Dr. Andy Brien is a native of Mendenhall, Missippi. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and a fellowship-trained sports medicine orthopaedic surgeon. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Belhaven College. He received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine, where he graduated Alpha Omega Alpha and was named Most Outstanding Orthopaedic Medical Student.
Dr. Brien completed Orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2008. During residency, he was selected to the Zimmer AOA Leadership Conference, and he also completed an AO International Trauma Fellowship in Klagenfurt, Austria. Following residency, he completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. During his fellowship, he assisted in the care of both collegiate and professional athletes for the University of Houston, the Houston Texans, and the Houston Astros as well as high schools in the Houston area.
